Duties / Roles / Activities: |
The medical first response program is comprised of volunteers who attend community events to provide first aid coverage throughout the community. Well trained and well-equipped, volunteers provide basic and advanced care when needed. The training focus of the program is on learning more advanced skills, the proper use of the equipment, and teamwork along with providing a service to the community. We also provide ongoing advanced first aid training to our volunteers year round at our bi-weekly meetings. |
Sample Tasks: | The Orangeville Medical First Response Unit covers community events in the Orangeville and Dufferin County area. Events such as the Orangeville Blues and Jazz festival, Ribfest, Track and Field, Fall Fairs, Bike and Cross Country Races are a few of the many community events that we cover. |

Skills / Experience: | Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and have St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid & Level āCā or HCP CPR as a prerequisite to join the program. In addition, a vulnerable sector police record check will be required upon completion of an interview. Please call for upcoming meeting dates. |
