It will give volunteers an opportunity to learn from clients about their experiences and how they can handle such a hard thing. It will be a great place to connect with others while also having some fun. It is also not a large time commitment as the program is one evening a month. Volunteers also have the opportunity to have a say in the program by choosing and running some activities for the group.

Volunteer type position is suitable for:
  • Adult (18 +)
Duties / Roles / Activities: Volunteers for this role will be expected to:
- create and promote a safe environment for clients to come to
- set up the room before the program begins and clean up at the end of the program
- make tea and coffee before the start of the program
- work with other volunteer(s) and staff member(s) to run activities during the program
- provide support for clients
- provide ideas or suggestions for program improvement
Sample Tasks: Some specific tasks that volunteers will do include:
- make tea and coffee
- set up/clean up room
- choose and run an activity for the program (with support of staff)
- assist in ice breaker and therapeutic programs with staff
- interact with clients
- other duties as assigned
